Since Vmware acquisition by Broadcom, the virtualization behemoth VMware has experienced substantial changes; Broadcom CEO and President Hock Tan has acknowledged the continuing VMware Transition. In a recent blog post, Tan responded to questions from partners and customers, stressing the importance of the 18-month assessment phase that preceded the acquisition and the advancements that have been made since.
Stakeholders, however, are uneasy about these abrupt shifts. Tan guarantees that these changes put an emphasis on innovation and customer service with the goal of increasing profitability and opening up new markets for channel partners. However, during the VMware Transition, Broadcom’s restructuring of license and account redirection has caused disruptions to other IT solution providers.
Tan argues that these steps are in line with industry standards and long-term plans, but worries about the financial fallout and employment losses persist. However, Broadcom continues to be committed to VMware’s future, making significant R&D expenditures.
The tech industry is preparing for more changes as VMware Transition moves forward, underscoring the difficulties of industry evolution and integration.
